My gut says Kubota because of their popularity and good reputation. I never see nearly as much about the NH/LS. But, the specs and price are better on the NH. Heavier, more lift capacity. However, 3pt lift seems to favor the Kubota. Havent looked at the Boomers yet but that might be an option too.

If "heavier, more lift capacity" is a factor, are you willing to consider other color/makes, or is your question purely about these two?

I’m open to others. However, the Deere 3E series isn’t very impressive. And the 3R is very expensive. The NH dealer has a few Kiotis but the NH outnumber them 10 to 1. They do have the CK4010SE though.

What dealers are close to you?

Deere is the closest. Mahindra is directly next to them. Kubota is a couple miles down the same road. New Holland is a little further away but not bad. All are big established dealers minus Mahindra which is the smallest of those.

O there’s a place that sells Massey Ferguson too. They have a good rep as well.

If your budget is such that you can consider deluxe model tractors as well as economy model tractors, consider the Kubota L3560, lightest of the Kubota 'Grand L' tractors.

Bare tractor weights:

L3901 2,750 pounds

L3560 3,700 pounds

WM40 2,900 pounds

They have the WM40 listed at 3067lbs.

The 3560 seems cool but also underpowered for its weight. I’ve seen some complaints about that on here. Maybe it isn’t. I’m am interested in them though.

Depending on where in NW Arkansas you're at, I see a few Branson dealers up there. The 3725 is heavy, strong, has a lot of features, and comparatively low cost. If you don't need as many features and can lose a couple hp, the 3520 (which I have) is similar in capability and lower cost.

Personally I would (and did) consider offerings from all of the various brands (Kub JD NH Tym LS Kioti Mah etc); different people have different criteria for their choices and you may find your ideal tractor in a different brand.

I was in a similar situation 6 years ago deciding on a tractor between these two makers. I went with NH due to higher ratings on reliability. I have no regrets.

Cool. Was LS making these then too? I’m looking at Boomers as well. Dealer has a Boomer 55 that’s really nice but the price in a Workmaster 40 is really nice.
