Kubota MX 5100
I have a Kubota MX 5100 with hydrostatic transmission. When I get off the tractor while the engine is running the engine shuts off as the shuttle ignition shut-off switch senses that the tractor is in a forward or reverse position. The engine is suppose to shut-off if the tractor senses that the hydrostatic shuttle pedal is not in the neutral position. I use to think it was the seats shut-off switch that was the problem but that switch isn't the issue. Fine, these a good features, however, how do I adjust the hydrostatic's ignition shut -off switch so it doesn't think the tractor is in the forward or reverse position when it isn't in those epositions? Also, where is the shuttle's switch?

There's a nut that needs an adjustment. I believe on the entry side but I'll have to make sure. I'll try to get a picture posted later.

George,
I'd appreciate it if you can get a picture.

For the time being, I taped the pressure switch under the seat closed so the tractor thinks I'm still seated when I dismount the tractor.

This pic is showing the actual place. You will adjust the silver nut on the left.

When I adjusted mine I turned the key to the on position and turned the nut unit I heard a click which is the safety switching to where it needs to be. It actually the HST pedal that is out of adjustment. any questions left me know

Can I assume it's the silver nut in front of the white thingy? I'll try this when I go get to the farm this week. Thanks a bunch.

I know this is an older thread, but I had this problem and have additional information. My MX5100 HST would cutoff when I got off the seat - when it should have continued to run. After reading this thread, I adjusted the switch (note that the switch should be depressed when the HST pedal is in the neutral position). The same problem started happening again. After crawling under the tractor to see what was going on, I discovered that the switch was separating from the metal housing. I removed the switch completely and took it to the workshop for inspection. I found that there are 2 indentations in the plastic part of the switch where the metal casing should be crimped into in order to hold the 2 parts (the metal housing and the plastic switch) together. I pushed the 2 pieces together completely and used a hammer and a punch to crimp the housing. I have no problems now. In my situation, adjusting the switch initially worked for a short time until the housing separated a little further and this would cause the problem to reoccur. Crimping the house should fix this forever
