Comparison Kubota MX5100 vs MX5200

Looking at a MX5100 and a MX5200, both with HST 4wd and loader.
I thought the main difference was the tier 4 exhaust stuff and from
what I've read and heard I prefer to go with the MX5100.
Looking closer at them, the MX5100 has a clutch on left and brakes on right above the hst pedal.
Didn't expect a clutch on hst and I am use to the brakes being on the left on my last tractor.
Is this a big deal and how often do you use the clutch/brakes on the hst MX5100?
Any owner advice on which model and pedal arrangement would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is an often debated question with what there is no agreement though it appears due to Kubota going to left foot brakes and eliminating the clutch on several new models, it is to become the industry standard.

As to the clutch, I only use mine to start the tractor and I'm glad to see it gone. As to the brakes, I rarely use mine and as all but our John Deere which I hate have right foot brakes, I prefer it that way on my HST; being use to left foot brakes though, I doubt you will like them on the right side.

I like my clutch on the MX 4700. I grew up using gear tractors so having the ability to hit the clutch and make everything stop is reassuring to me. I have no problems using my left foot to operate the brakes on the right side. Also by using the cruise control you're free to use your right foot if you please.

I'd snap up the 5100 if you have a chance at one.

There is very little reason to have a clutch on an HST machine, and I hate right side brakes. Kubota is finally getting with the times and moving the brakes to the left. Eventually they'll probably come to terms with the industry standard dual foot pedals and get rid of that awkward rocker pedal too.

Then again, it might just come down to personal preference.

What's the price difference you are seeing?

Kubota has a rebate on the new model, so not much difference in price. (Both new machines)

That's how my LS is set up.
Brakes on the left, separate forward and reverse pedals on the right, no clutch (has electric PTO switch).

Only use the clutch to start it and turn on the PTO. Use the brakes once in a GREAT while while moving. I really only use it for parking (as in the parking brake)

the clutch on the mx5100 is only used to crank the tractor.now as for the clutch and brake placement.im used to the clutch being on the left and brakes on the right.so changing things around would be wrong.now on my 7040 i can crank the track with out using the clutch.
