Hi, I'm looking to make a purchase this week and its basically narrowed down to the New Holland TT60A and the Kubota MX5100, both 2WD, mostly to be used for 72 inch bush hog and FEL (light to medium duty) work, but mostly cutting at this time. Prices are really close. Any input as to which model would be best? Thanks is advance.

I'm a kubota fan but I just compared the specs on these two and for your purposes I would probably go with the blue tractor.

TT60A advantages:
More PTO power, 47 vs. 44
Better hydraulics, 10.8 gpm vs. 9.5 gpm
540 pto @ 1967 rpm vs 2700 rpm for kubota (big difference here)
longer wheelbase 81.7" vs. 74.6"
heavier 4540 lbs. vs. 3369 lbs.
bigger rear tire 14.9 - 28 vs. 14.9 - 26.

The kubota does have some advantages as well:
interim tier 4 motor, runs clean
8x8 transmission vs 8x2
mechanical shuttle shift
hydraulic pto, wet pto clutch
lighter (possible advantage if you need a lighter machine for some applications)
tighter turning radius, more maneuverable

I think you should test drive both. I think the kubota engine runs at about 2700 rpm for a 540 pto speed, check it out to see what it's like.

I was worried a bit about that aspect of running at 2700 rpm for the 540 pto speed. The tractor I'm used to is an old Ford 5000 that runs the 540 pto at 1900 rpm. Anyone have any experience with running at such a high rpm for the 540 pto?

We just bought a 4X4 Mx5100 and absolutely love it. Looked at blue but our local Kubota dealer beat the heck out of the blue dealer on price.

those Kubota MX's seem to be selling more then the New Holland TT series, as far as these boards go. I've been looking for posts from owners of a NH TT series because I would like to hear some feedback from them but it seems there just aren't that many as there are MX owners.

The only down side to owning a new MX510 is that's hard to get any work done with it. Neighbors keep coming over to check it out:D

The MX series has been around a lot longer, the TT's just came on the market last year.

what is the first year of the MX series? wasn't the MX5000 the first model, followed by the current MX5100?

I ended up going with the MX5100, as the dealer worked with me much more on pricing and with my trade than the NH dealer. I got it with FWD, FEL with quick attach, grill guard, and dual rear remotes. Only 6-7 hours on so far but no problems and runs my SQ172 with ease and my 6 year old son is able to sit on my lap, buckle up, and operate the FEL while I'm driving the tractor. Wish the fuel tank was a little larger but that's my only complaint at this point.
