Kubota RTV Recall Notice

Has anybody else received a Recall notice for the steering shaft?I'm going to call the dealer shortly to schedule a date to bring in. I haven't had any issues with mine but it must be a problem. According to the Recall its for the entire steering shaft replacement.

In voluntary cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Kubota Tractor Corporation is conducting a safety recall for certain RTV900 Utility Vehicles, serial numbers 10001 through 25883 sold at retail between January and October 2004. The RTV900 serial number can be found at the location shown on the illustration immediately following.


PROBLEM: The front hood of the RTV900 can become detached during operation striking the driver and/or passenger and causing serious personal injury.

PRODUCT: The products are RTV900 Utility Vehicles that were sold by Kubota dealers. Units manufactured from December 2003 through early October 2004 are affected

WHAT TO DO: Stop using your vehicle immediately and contact your nearest Kubota RTV900 Dealer for a free inspection and, if necessary, a free replacement hood. For the location of your nearest dealer, call Kubota toll free at 1-888 4-KUBOTA, extension 990 (1-888-458-2682, ext. 990) or contact your selling RTV900 dealer.

Although that is a Recall, it isn't the one I received.Mine is for 400-500 models and involves replacement of the steering shaft.

I did not fine any new recalls on your machine. Must not be a public release.

I had that recall on the hood of my RTV years ago. That is an old recall notice.

I got the same notice for my RTV500 which I no longer own. It is about the steering shaft replacement on the RTV500.

Dealer called on phone yesterday get letter in mail today
