Kubota\'s in the Denver area

I am looking for a used B7500 and am having very little luck. The _one_ dealer in the area say that they are almost impossible to find because they sell so quickly. Can anyone provide a hint as to where to look in the Denver CO area?

I may have to go with a new one, but the initial quote for a new B7500 w/FEL came to $13,900 -- which seems a bit high compared to other info I've found from this site.

Thanks for any help!

Re: Kubota\'s in the Denver area

Clark,

I can't help with a B7500 in the Denver area, but I have 2 pieces of advice for you: 1) Don't limit yourself to your local area and 2) Take your time looking... It often takes months to locate the right tractor at the right price.

When I started looking for a tractor several months ago, I figured I'd just go to dealer and pick up a used one, much like I would buy a used car. I learned a lot by reading through this forum, and realized that a lot of the local tractors seemed overpriced. The price difference between a used one and a new one was not significant enough to make me want to buy used. I started broadening my search, and found one in as-new condition, 450 miles away. I spent a weekend driving down to get it, but I saved several thousand $$$, and got a great tractor. (By the way, I could have had it shipped, but I chose to drive down and save even more). The whole thing took 4 months, but I know of people on the forum who searched for longer.

Anyway, the moral of the story is that reasonably priced used tractors are out there, but not all that common. You may have to search far and wide to find one.

Additionally, if you are looking for a new one, check out some out-of-state dealers. Many people have good things to say about Carver’s, and the savings in sales tax is likely to cover the shipping.

Good luck and keep us posted about your finds,

Re: Kubota\'s in the Denver area

Clark,

I am up here between Woodland Park and Deckers also looking for a tractor (L3010). I have looked
in Colo Spgs and Longmont. I also got a quote from a North Carolina dealer. I have not checked
with Universal in Den on Wadsworth yet. I'll do that shortly. You and I are either going to pay 2.9% sales tax in addition to the shipping or about $1600-1700 shipping with no sales tax. I haven't seen any evidence of economic slowing in the tractor sales area. There have been a few slight decreases in financing rates, but certainly not the 0% financing offers that the car dealers are offering. I am paying cash anyway so I just look for economic stress in this area. I have also seen comments on this website indicating that the Kubotas hold their value fairly well. Good used tractors by private individuals don't seem to stay on the market for long. It is case of being in the right place at the right time to get one. I'll be expanding the search to Nebraska, New Mexico, Texas, and Wyoming. The really bummer part is that my wife just told me to "go get a deal" as a result of the recent snow/ice!!!

Re: Kubota\'s in the Denver area

Thank you all for your advice. I have broadened my search...
I thought I had found a B7500HST, but it was sold by the time I called...darn.

Today, I looked at a B7300HST - 72 hrs, FEL, and 4' rhino rotary cutter for around $11k.
The tractor seems to be in "like new" condition. Can anyone say if this is a good deal?

Thanks again for the help!

Re: Kubota\'s in the Denver area

CTucker and Rockymountain1,

I just purchased a 2710 from Pauley Eqpt. in Temecula, CA. I'm in Arizona and his price was $3K below my "local" dealer. That was my savings after paying shipping, and not paying taxes. So don't limit yourself to local. Shipping was $400.

I was looking for used, but after 6 months I ended up getting a new one. I was in the same predicament you're in now. Good luck!

Rockymountain1 - I spent many a freezing weekend watching the "Ice Races" (2 wheel) on a pair of lakes just outside Woodland Park. Lots of fun 20 years ago. I'm from Conifer/Evergreen.

Re: Kubota\'s in the Denver area

Clark,

Just for comparison, I bought a B7300 HSD (hydrostatic, 4WD), 220 hours, in as new condition with 54" MMM for $6500. I thought that was a good price. Obviously, you are getting a FEL with this unit, and that's worth about 3K or so.

In my opinion, you are getting pretty close to the price of a brand new BX with FEL and MMM. You could probably get that for about 12K, with warranty. Have you considered that option?

(If I were in your shoes, and I had to spend 11K used, or 12K new, I’d go new. But then again, I’m convinced that a BX would have fit my needs just as well as a B7300)
