I'm looking at buying this tractor. Its runs good. Looks like ****.

FEL has alots of re-welded areas.

What should I look for with one of these? Advise?

$6,000.00 purchase price.

Many un-restored examples of these early '80s models are now getting ugly cosmetically. Many are still fine mechanically - but the weld repairs on the loader may indicate it's been beaten by more than the weather. Is the loader a Kubota 1720? Does it have an external pump at the front of the tractor? These loaders have very rugged frames so if it has been broken I'd look the tractor over carefully for other signs of abuse or neglect. There should be no oil leaks, air filter should be completely intact, hydraulic oil clean, loader pins reasonably tight, hoses intact, etc. Maybe you could post some pics?

I have one of these and they usually look like ___ but work pretty well. 6grand is a bit steep for one that doesnt have any attachments. I bought mine withe a gillian hours for that with a backhoe that was leaking like a pig also loader in good shape. Leaks, welding all over, but tranny and motor worked pretty good. all ptos worked front leaked (oring). Good tractor though

If it has a BH and a loader that is a good price, loader only nope, no attachments worth about 2k. box scraper and backhoe buy it now. But plan on fixing it and putting a few hundred in parts.
