L3200/3800 Grand Ls 2nd air filter...

I got the optional internal air filter that goes inside the stock air filter for my L3200. This internal air filter comes standard on the Grand Ls. The answer to this question seems obvious to me but I've learned not to assume...

Does the internal air filter go in the same direction as the stock air filter? That is, the closed end towards the cap?
