Well i just turned 3000 hours on my 2008 L3240 cab tractor today! Just wanted to give a report on how the tractor has held up since i bought it new in 2008. I have always done my own maintenance and did all the scheduled maintenance by Kubota's schedule.
The tractor runs as strong as it did the day i bought it, it uses zero oil and leaks zero oil. The transmission also works perfect and has zero leaks. Everything on the tractor still works like new.
Parts replaced:
4 fan belts
2 batterys
2 sets of front tires
Battery hold down
3 wipper blades
Repaired steering wheel (inner yoke breaks over time).
Transmission hyd line (steel line) 1059 hours
Shift silonoid electrical connector on transmission (bad o-ring) 2650 hours
Dip stick (gromet developed leak) 900 hours
Transmission input seal and propeller shaft input seal. (Required tractor split) 2300 hours
I did all the repairs myself including the transmission input seals.
Other things to mention:
A/C needs inside cooling core to be cleaned every 1000 hours.
Acid washed radiator/ a/c condensor every 500 hours.
Switched to full synthetic oil at 300 hours. Alwsys used kubota UDT Plus fluid and kubota filters.
Most of the 3000 hours were heavy bushoging and some finishing mowing.
