Rat,
I'm certainly still in the "figuring it out" stages, but there are alot of reasons the
B2910/
B7800 would make more sense for me. To name just a few, my 12 yo son operates the tractor in limited situations and I think the smaller size would really benefit him - and if that isn't enough, I will be training my other children over the next few years to operate the tractor as well. For that reason alone, I should keep the
BX22 - I certainly don't need anything larger than the
B2910 for them to learn on. As a side point, I learned on larger tractors, but at a later age and mostly in large open areas with few obstacles - what little yard we had we used a push mower for. Now days, much of tractor use here is mowing 4 acres, but only about 3 of that really open. I don't allow my oldest to mow in close to all the obstacles - like my truck! Other things like tilling is great learning experience - garden area almost 1/2 acre. I also have implements that I'd like to keep rather than sell cheap to invest in larger ones. I can use the 42" Land Pride tiller, the 5' light duty box blade, and the 4' medium duty hog with the
B2910 and not have too much mismatch. Can you imagine how a
L3130 would dwarf those implements! Most of what I do the BX will handle, just a little too slowly for my liking (and I don't use the hoe enough to have that much money tied up in it). A few things I need like a regular size post hole digger, the BX just isn't made for. Anyway, now that I have typed maybe the longest post ever for me, I'm gonna shut up! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Your points are all valid, and with just a few things different, I would join you in the L series bliss! To be honest, at this point I would consider the
B2910 pretty blissful - for that matter, I still thoroughly enjoy the BX 90% of the time. It's an amazing little hunk of tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
