Was at my co-workers home today in the Lehigh Gap area, near Walnutport PA. We worked it hard for 3 hours today, with no problems. Bush hogging thru a briar patch. At some points could hardley see the tractor over the tops of the brush. This was my first time taking his BH 77 off and installing the Bush Hog SQ160, took me a few minutes to get the BH off, Pens had been greased, but grease was a little dirty and also adjusting the uinit to take the weight off pens to get them to come out. Then the three point hitch was still attached to the Bush Hog, and had to re install it to the tractor. Before I put the BH back on, I used wd40 to clean off the old grease and the pens went back in easy. One thing I noticed is that using the RPM's at the 2200 or so RPM to run the PTO at 540, this thing using a lot of fuel, but of course, I am used to working a BX 23, so its not a fair comparison.

Yes, Kyle, it was very Hot today, and I was very much working out it, but on the railroad, and had a chance to enjoy a little air conditioner between hand test.
One thing on using the bush hog, was how much noise it made, there were lots of large rocks in the area, under the ticket. Now that they are exposed, will try to pick them up, also this area has a lot of old burnt up trees, in the 2 to 4 inch size, 2 inch and under, we mowed them down with the brush hog, larger, pushed them out of the way, and plan on moving them to a burial pit latter on. I was surprized that I didn't brake it, I don't know if it has a sheer pin, or cluch... will have to check it out online, unless some one here knows.

Come on folks, not many replys to this post, not even the safety police, as kermit did not even have his safety glasses on, but belive me, I did. It was a lot of fun, and work at the same time. Hope to get back down next weekend for a little more fun, and more photos. I should have put this in the equipment form.

One of the things I like to do when I cut is to keep my bucket as low as possible to find those stumps. I have about 14 acres I'm trying to clean up that was clear cut years ago and lots of hidden stumps! It's saved me several time. As a rule, I do try to keep the bucket lower then my front axle just to make sure. And like said earlier keep those safety glasses on and ROP up.
