Recently I noticed fuel dripping and then running from a 鏑 shaped fitting from the rear, engine side of the fuel filter housing. Called the dealer and the mechanic said to tap it back in. Did that and the leak seemed to stop. He implied that it was not all all an unusual problem. So I still have a few questions:

Is it a common problem?

The fitting is L shaped and the part that goes into the fuel filter housing top is tapered with a groove in it and in the corresponding hole in the filter housing there is a tapered hole with what looks like a ring. So what the heck are these style of fittings called?

I have never had to use the on-on-off valve on top of the fuel filter housing before so what are the two 登n positions for? I might have a clue on what the 登ff does? Is one to help purge air in the system? When I started it there was a slight surging and I increased the RPM and changed to the other 登n no idea if either did anything but it smoothed out.

Thanks,
Michael

U can pinch off the rubber lines so air doesn't get in the system & remove the housing.. DEGREASE IT & the fitting, & epoxy it into the housing..
Problem solved.
