Tractor Sizing Lawn Tractor for 25K Sq Ft

Just said goodbye to a Deere 1026R Subcompact - looking to "downsize" to something a bit more appropriate for our 25,000 sq ft mostly flat lawn. Looking for something that will support a snow blade and tow things like a seed/fertilizer spreader, utility cart and sprayer.

Our neighbor has a 300 Series that looks pretty reasonable; but wanted to check here...

Any thoughts/suggestions/pointers welcomed

I don't think a snow blade without hydraulic lift and angle would be much good. Think of the x700 as the minimum. I mow 4500 sq feet of lawn with my 'R, so 25,000 would be big to me...

I have an X590 that I like a lot. It’s fuel injected so no choke to mess with, just turn the key and go. The power steering is nice too. Very wife friendly.

I had a thought about selling my 'R, or at least getting rid of the H120 FEL. That is until I saw this:


I think it would be fabulous for picking up wind blown sticks in the woods.

absolutely!:thumbsup: I can't understand why he did this!. a lawn tractor for 25,000 sq. ft.? it'll take a VERY long time to mow that!. AND it won't last long!..

Depends on the lawn tractor if it is diesel or not.My JD X740 has the yanmar diesel engine with 7 iron 60 inch deck.I am pretty sure it would last 25 years with normal maintenance.My 1996 ingersoll 4020 lawn tractor with a 20 hp onan gasser is going strong with 740 hours.
