machine is a john deere 3520. I started a thread over a month ago about my loader dump cylinders leaking down 4 inches a minute. Dealer picked it up and rebuilt the dump cylinders. Got it back and seemed to not lock down. (loader had less than 5 hours on it. Well I recently noticed the cylinders leaking down again. I timed them to be leaking down 6 inches every 15 minutes. That equals 24 inches an hour with no load in the bucket. Put a load of topsoil in the bucket, you can almost double the time. I think john deere specs only allow for 4 inches an hour. the boom cylinders don't move at all. not even an 1/8 inch in an hour. heres video sped up with a stopwatch

I think that is excessive. John deere has a plenty liberal spec on it, so if it's not meeting their spec, then there is a problem. Try disconnecting the hoses to isolate the problem. If it doesn't leak down, then your problem is in the valve. But cycle it stop to stop and let it go into relief for a few seconds each time. This will purge the air out before your experiment.
If it is the cylinder seals, then that means the bore could have a defect that destroyed the new set.

yeah I disconnected the hoses and got same reading. im thinking the bores are defective.

Since they will not meet JD's specs even after repair, I think JD should replace the cylinders under warranty.

Both cylinders were replaced this time. Moved dirt today. First time since I had the loader where I could move dirt and not have to keep tilting the bucket back while transporting. Weird feeling haha. Looked at the bill and the cylinders were 580 bucks a piece. so almost 1200 bucks. Expensive cylinders I should say. it was covered by warranty of course

no problem. I should also mention that the cylinders for the 300cx on my model are of slightly larger bore my loader was 2013 manufacture. For whatever reason they moved to a slightly larger size and I got one of the first run. is what I was told. I can take a measurement of piston size with my caliber if anyone wants to compare to verify this. The dealer only knew this because when they repacked my cylinders last time it was in, they were sent a seal kit that was too small and they contacted the manufacturer and that was explained to them so they had to wait for them to send out the revised set with larger bore
