Should I own up to my deception?
You know the answer, not certain why you're asking here ;)

My experience...

Didn't get married until I was 38. Had my own career, traveled for work and played and had a great "single" life (my wife always busts on me because I told her I did everything I ever wanted to do before I got married LOL).

Married now for 19 years now, still great life.

What I will tell you is in the first 10 years of marriage, I'd always lose my house keys and wallet from time to time, wife was always there with lost items in her handing waiting for me to get them. Last 10 years, she's lets me find them on my own now:ROFLMAO:

We're going to Wilmington NC this afternoon for a wedding. My wife packed and was ready to go last night. Myself? Took me 5 mintues before I typed this and now I'm ready to go;)

Fact is, IMO from what I've read from your posts, if your family is anything like mine, your wife already knows what you lost and is waiting for you to tell her;)

Heck, anytime I'm looking for something, once I move to more than two places in the house that's out of my "norm", my wife asks me what I'm looking for:ROFLMAO:

I tell my boys the success in a good marriage is picking a woman better than yourself and hope she puts up with you. Hard to believe, but some woman are equal to or better than men:ROFLMAO:

Agreed but it still sometimes takes me 3 tries to drive off the farm with everything I wanted to take with me.
Yeah, after a few times leaving the house and half way to where I was going I realized I had forgotten to bring something along that was the reason for the trip.
Now, before I back out of the garage, I do a mental check to make sure I have what is needed for the trip and know where I'm going.
Oh, and make sure the garage door is up. Don't ask....

We were leaving to go to a grand's soccer game yesterday afternoon and I could not find my billfold. I knew I had put it in the same place as always in the bedroom but it was not there. I always take it out of my right back pocket and put it in a tray on the nightstand. Not there. We searched everywhere in the house for thirty minutes with her questioning me constantly. Looked in the bedroom, under the bed, behind night stand, in attached bath. No billfold. Under covers of the bed, nope. In both the other bathrooms, nope. In the utility room, sunroom, and in the refridgerator, no billfold. I even looked in the dishwasher because I had started it after putting in the lunch plate, no billfold. Was about to tell her to drive and we would look for it later when I stuck my hand in my left front pocket and......drum roll......my billfold was there with my cellphone and glasses case.

She has lost several things lately and I have made a big thing out of her getting old and forgetful so I told her it was behind a bathroom door.

Should I own up to my deception?

Just asking.

My house is organized and not cluttered. What’s left of my brain, not so much!
My phone. I hate the thing, yet have to keep it with me. That's what makes Bluetooth nice; about the time I'm the end of my road I'll look at the dash to make sure that the phone is locked in.

How did you manage to live BEFORE you had a mobile phone?

I still do not have one. I understand young folks know no better, but when did all you older blokes decide you had to have one to survive? Why must you have one? Serious questions, because I have never found it essential to have any sort of telephone. Useful, but not essential. Few things in life are so important that you must know immediately, or tell someone else immediately.

I carry mine whenever I’m outside. At my age I could fall, have a heart attack or be kidnapped by zombies. Cant be too safe. :ROFLMAO:

My phone is used mostly for streaming podcasts, navigation, and accessing tractor forums the occasional text and phone call as well.

But there are also tools and features we've set up on them that we also use.

One such is a tracking app. All the kids and grandkids are on it. It makes it super easy to keep tabs on the grandkids. This was a necessity before our son got full custody of his youngest son. Grandsons mom is a druggy and would dump him and his younger half brother at some strangers place or a drug den.

Sure was handy having it in my pocket when I accidently knocked over the ladder when getting onto the roof. I was able to call my retired neighbor and have him come rescue me. Cost me a 6 pack and some serious ribbing though

You live a different lifestyle than most. A phone has always been essential to me. We used to make calls on Sunday night; if plans changed after we left the house Monday morning, I had no way of knowing. I used to leave town on Sunday night; and nobody would hear from us until Thursday night. We were driving a 2WD Suburban on unplowed roads, and would often wake up to a few more inches of snow in the morning.

At the very least, it's a convenience. Rather than taking a day off because I need to make an appointment; I can take an hour off and (hopefully) find cell service. It's also a safety item; I check in with somebody every night when I get back to the truck. If I want to go fishing or to the grocery store, I can do it without somebody calling the cavalry.

These stories bring back a memory of when I lost my car. I was only around 21 years old and took my wife to the movies. We parked the car and then spotted a better park further down the street so moved it there. When we came out of the movies we had forgotten that we had relocated the car and were about to call the police when we spotted it further down the street. Not a fan of eggs but they were all over my face that night.
