"Reminds me of when I used to pull a drag down out driveway with my JD 770. My Dad stood on it for weight, holding onto a rope like a water skier. He called it surfing "

We also did that with a drag and could actually steer it by shifting weight from one foot to the other.
Actually worked really well.
\Helped that the drag rider was also a water skier.

I still believe a well designed drag can outperform many costly grading devices being offered.
