Ballast LM8244 Ballast box

When I got my Kubota L4240 they had a ballast box laid in the bucket because the blower was attached to the 3pt hitch. I've looked at the box a number of times and don't see how it attaches to the tractor. Anyone know how this thing attaches? Thanks for your help.

I would guess that to be a front mount that hangs on the guard when you have your loader removed. KennyV.

Well I stopped in to my Kubota dealership yesterday to find out how the ballast box attaches to my 4240 Grand tractor and I've got to say that Newfoundland Kubota are just great to deal with. When I got there Todd (the salesman that sold me the tractor) got right to it and in no time he had it figured out.

Turns out that the ballast box do indeed attach to the 3pt hitch via a long bar. Where is the bar you ask?

Well after some investigating we discovered that the bar was placed inside the ballast box and all I had to do is remove the bolts and I would have seen it there. Now why didn't I think of that before

I still cannot visualize how it mounts to the 3PH even with the bar

The bar goes through the "eyes" of the lower arms of the 3 PH and hooks under the 2 short "arms" on the front of the ballast box. When you lift the lower arms of the 3PH, the "legs" protruding from the bottom of the ballast box brace against the underside of the lower arms of the 3PH. Sounds more complicated than it actually is. The system is quite simple and doesn't require a top link. Unfortunately took mine off for the season (to install snowblower) or I would try to post a photo.
