I had good luck drilling drain holes in my loader valve this winter to get the condensation out. When it got cold it was starting to balk up when the moisture inside froze. I told a friend about it, and he was having the same trouble. He has a different model tractor and the valve is a different shape. He was successful drilling the valve for the bucket curl, but the lift valve is a different shape and he's not sure where to drill it. He'd like to get a drain hole in it, when it was cold he had to heat it with a heat gun to get it to work. I took a picture of the valve, the lift valve that needs a drain hole is on the left in the picture. He'd like to take the end cap off to see what's in there, but doesn't dare to. Does anybody know where to put a drain hole in a valve like that?

Take the cap off and look. Make sure there isn't anything that will get hurt.

By the way, I don't endorse this. The caps normally have a metal vent built into them to allow air and fluid out.
