It seems I am always finding items just a bit different than I need. The price is usually right but the application is usually for something entirely different. I bought a Kubota fifty inch snowblower. It should mount to my 4110 with ease. Wouldn't one know it turns the wrong rotation for my machine. So buy a four hundred converter which is several times the amount the whole unit costs or look for another. From the gear manufacturer no guarantee the one inch shaft rotation converter would hold up without failure.
I have searched for years for a 47 JD blower. Either they are two grand or not available. New they are double this price with the mount and drive shaft. Which leads me to a new venture..... a 59" JD snowblower which is too big for my tractor which could mount up easily with a mount modification. My concern is the twenty hp diesel tractor sharing its torque with the hydrastatic drive and heavy snow. I called local dealers and no one has a used forty seven or larger unit in stock. If they did their pricing is usually the deciding factor to keep looking. Like I mentioned the price is right and if I upgrade the 4110 to the next larger frame size it would be perfect. The problem with this is I would take a beating on the low hour tractor and all the attachments at sale time. My curiousity tells me to buy the 59 and see if it works out. I am very confident I can resell it and come out even... maybe. It may be a little large for deep snow but additional passes could be less than capacity width.
I envy guys that buy attachments new from the dealer at what seems to me twice the price they should be. Maybe not older and wiser ... just frugal in these economic times. Anyone have a thinking disorder like this ? I can usually talk myself into anything priced reasonable that almost makes sense.

I would think the 59" would work. Sure in heavy snow taking the first cut would bbe slower but after that just take a 48 - 50" swath. In light snow you would make up for time lost in heavy snow.

I agree, operate the machine as to not overload it too much.

I use a 60" Howard tiller behind my x749 and lower the ground speed accordingly, gets the job done and mathematically should take the same amount of time as using a 48" tiller at a slightly faster ground speed. I will replace it later with a 48" tiller but I am not in as much of a hurry to do this as I was.

Brought the beast home today. It's huge....... 59 by 24 high. Two inch drive shaft and a gear system that belongs in a compact truck. Did I mention it is heavy ??? I think it will put a little strain on the front axle. Will need the weight box to keep the rear tires on the ground. Due to the lack of snow the last two years the blower has very little paint wear, almost new condition.
