Lower control lever to lift the 3-point has stopped working. Got a little harder to pull up and push down over time and now will not move at all. I backed off the bolt some to see if relieving pressure on the lever would help. Nope. Didn't help. Also checked fluid. Full and color is clear. Anybody got any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your kind consideration.

I have a Long 460, and I hope you're NOT talking about the shorter, lower rear lever (if it's the same as mine) - my operator book warns NOT to move that shorter lever either direction unless the lift is at the top of its range (with the longer, position lever) -

Can't find it right now, but one of the books I have said something about having to completely dis-assemble the lift system to "fix" what would happen if you moved that short lever at the wrong time.

Since I'm the only one who uses my 460, and since I never use ground engaging implements with that particular tractor, I chose to simply never move it.

If you don't have any literature on yours, I can scan a couple of (hopefully) pertinent pages for you if you like... Steve

Good morning BukitCase.

Not the short lever in the rear. I never move it. We are talking about the long raise/lower lever to move the 3-pt up and down. I have the 360 owner's manual, but it says nothing in the troubleshooting guide about this problem. Still trying to find a solution before I tear into it to see if there is a mechanical problem and then find that I can't fix it myself. I do use ground engaging equipment (cultivator, bush hog, disk), but I do not use the float setting at all. I am not looking forward to disassembling it, but I suppose I will have to if it is not a simple fix. Maybe a clogged filter? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have a good day.

Duh, if I'd paid more attention to the cover of the service manual I bought here

Your Long 310, 320, 350, 360, 445, 460, 510, 550, 560, 610 Parts Source!

I would have seen that it covers 360, 460 and 510 models.

From your description, and the diagrams in the service manual, I'd guess that one or more of the MANY linkage/pivot points have gradually seized up - maybe start with the obvious external ones and a good penetrant, repeated application and (fairly) gentle jiggling so nothing gets bent/broken?

BTW, the quality of that service manual is quite good compared to some I've seen - a minimum of pictures with too high contrast to do any good, lots of drawings with legible part descriptions, etc - the hydraulics section alone is 36 pages.

Hope this helps some... Steve
