looking at bx25
I live in Jackson, MS and have about 4 acres of bermuda grass to cut and currently own a Toro 50" zero turn. I live on a lake and could use the backhoe for cleaning the bank and so forth. My main concern is the comfort while cutting and the finish compared to my Toro.

Will the 60" deck with the mulching kit offer a good even clean cut?

How do the controls work while cutting? Do i have to keep a pedal depressed all of the time?

Is it easy to slow down and quickly speed back up to make sharp turns?

This would be my first tractor so if there are any questions I am not asking please let me know.

Thank you,

Wes

I purchased a BX25 with a MMM in Feb. Haven't had the pleasure of using the MMM yet, but this little machine is a powerhouse. It does have "cruise control", though I haven't found a need for it yet, perhaps I'll use it when mowing those long straight-a-ways. I don't think you'd have any regrets.

You need to test drive one first. Don't jump into something like this without trying out everything that is available in your area.

You will more often regret the things in life that you did not do rather than the things you did do.
Buy the tractor.

I have a BX23 with a 54" MMM...Love this thing. I've had it since 2004 and it's done everything I've asked and more. No failures whatsoever, even the bulbs are original.

The BX25 is the same basic machine that I have with some upgrades. If this size machine works for you...Buy it, you'll love it.

I don't need a back hoe, so I got a BX2660 and we love it for mowing. We have a big yard, so use the cruise control. I highly recommend one.

I agree with Whacky, look at all of them with good dealer representation in your area. I did and bought a Kubota after a brief foray into the world of green tractors.

1*The BX25 rides like a caddy and why did you assume it cuts worse than your Toro?
2*I get a good cut with my 60'' MMM on my BX23.
I don't care for a mulcher.
3*Yes but what's wrong with that ?
4*No problem.
Another suggestion wht not get the BX25 and keep the Toro also?

I've a BX25 with a 60" mmm and use it as a mower. It works well, but don't be mistaken - it isn't the same as a dedicated mower. It isn't as agile, its tires and weight chew up the grass more, its ROPs clip tree branches, and it doesn't cut corners as sharply. I wouldn't buy it exclusively for that purpose.

That being said, it is a wonderfully utilitarian machine which I suspect you will find multiple uses for. I happily put up with some mowing disadvantages in exchange for PTO, FEL and other capabilities. It's great, I wish I'd bought one many years ago.
