BX25D
It's a 2014 rental with 156 hours. Both buckets are well worn but that doesn't matter. What should I be looking at for problem areas? Would you stay away? Price is $15,900. Thanks.

Mods...this should probably go in the kubota sub forum. Move it if you want to.

At $15.9k, I'd say no. I think you can find a new one for $18k, which would have a full warranty and you would always know the service history and how it was treated.

If that used one was cheaper, it could be a good find. The savings of used versus new has to be enough to compensate you for the risk of the unknown.

I thought the price was high too, but they will not budge on the price and even admit it is a bit high but they sell at this price so no need to reduce price. I guess I'm back to looking at the BX2370-1 at 5% off msrp. Other parts of the country are getting 10% or more off. In NH not so much.

Nothing parties like a rental. Just sayin.

A rental machine is likely to have been use too hard, for too big jobs by not regular tractor operators. Most of us will have barely worn the paint on the buckets of our own tractors in only 150hours. I know that when I have rented equipment, I generally work it to death trying to get as much as possible done in 24 hours or whatever before I have to pay an extended hire charge. I bet I'm not the only one, either.
If you are a real novice, find out who the local independent good tractor mechanic is, and pay him to look the machine over for you and test it before you commit. £100 for his time could be money well spent if he tells you that the gearbox is knackered because every operator is so used to a car with automatic transmission that they've nearly killed it, and the seller is trying to shift it before there's an expensive noise under the seat

Yep for the price I wouldn't consider it.

Check with Barlow Equipment in Somerset, Kentucky. They are a quality, reputable Kubota dealer that has great prices, and they deliver all over the country. I've talked to them but never bought anything from them, but a lot of people on here have. They have a BX2360 with 192 hours with a 54" MMM deck listed on their site for $10,900. He's also got a BX2660 with a 60" MMM with more hours for a little higher price.

Or, even better, they have a low hour B2920 (a B, not a BX) with a backhoe on it for $18,500, which is about the same price you'd pay for a new BX. Not sure if that's too big for you, but there ya' go.

I don't know how much delivery would be to NH, but you never know until you ask. Heck, they might have a couple of other tractors headed that way anyway.

I agree with Pappy
