Kubota B-2650
Going to see a 2010 Kubota L2800 with 200 hours.

Wondering what the feedback is on this model?

Is 28 hp any disadvantage with this size tractor?

Any idea as to what is a good price to pay?

Has R4 tires and rears are loaded, 4wd, FEL, HST, and
has been garage stored.

All feedback will be appreciated.

Regarding the jerky hydraulics, are you referring to the 3ph. FEL, or the HST operation?

Just got back fromm seeing this L2800.

Here's my questions/concerns:

-This model does not come with a primary and secondary air filters? Only one was installed.

-This model is full time 4wd? Did not see a control lever to engage/disengage?
Owner said there was no control lever on this tractor.

-Looked for the hydr. fluid dip stick/sight guage and could not locate either one?
What concerned me was that the owner of 7 years, had no idea where
the dipstick was. He never looked for it, and obviously never checked the
fluid level.

-Checked the FEL operation and it seemed very smooth and accurate.
The power steering seemed to operate normally.

-Checked the 3ph operation with a ballast box full of stones attached.
Operation was VERY JERKY DURING THE RISE. Smooth decent.

-The one thing I noticed is that the control lever had to be moved all the way
to POSITION #5 before it would begin to move the 3ph.
Does this indicate that the 3ph control unit needs to be replaced?

-The owner told me that he had the rear tires filled at the dealer when he orignally placed his order in 2010.
*The rear valve stems are very badly corroded! The fronts are like new.
I'm thinking that the rears are loaded with a corrosive salt solution?

If they are, and the stems are badly corroded, what is the fix?
Are the inside of the rims corroded, as well? Can this be resolved?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Based upon my Kubota's which are different models, one a B and the other a M think you will find a dipstick possibly under the seat but most likely behind your left leg sitting on the tractor. Seven years with no hyd oil maintenance could lead to clogged filter or low oil either could explain the jerky lift and the lift not working as it should. That would concern me.

For the record how about the engine oil maintenance? I find it hard to believe that tractor has full time four wheel drive.

200 hours is not much. I'd change the fluids, fuel filter, air filter, maybe the antifreeze, the hydraulic oil, the hydraulic filter, grease, etc.. Get a manual. If the price is good- should be a great tractor.
If it is holding air in the tires- you can leave the rears for now. I have rimguard (beet juice) in mine. If I remove the cap on the valve and let some air out- I get red juice! Check yours out and see what color fluid.

It does not sound like he worked it hard, sounds good!

With so few hours I wouldn't be overly concerned. Don't go the used route if you expect most folks to maintain their stuff like you would; they just don't. You can use the opportunity (if you get it) to go thru all the fluids and consumables and it will last you many years of good service.
