2006 John Deere 3320
Hey all,
Looking to buy 2006 John Deere 3320 4x4. My concern is it has been sitting in storage for the last 4 years no use. I'm told it has only 40 hrs on it (scout dad i know that moved out of state - I trust him)
What would be concerns with these conditions and what costs might I have to get back to norm?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Max

P.S. I hope I picked the correct place to post.

Fuel would be my only concern, and would first drain some out to see what it looks like before trying to fire up the engine.

Beyond that, if the battery is charged up and it starts, let it warm up the hyd. oil, and move it around for a test drive.

I would expect it will run just fine.. with fresh fuel if I was doing it.

Others may know of some other potential problems, but if in good storage (I take that to be out of the weather and sun) am thinking you should be good.

Ditto what beenthere said. Assume "in storage" means under cover. Coolant and engine oil should also be changed after the 9 years. Probably the the original fill considering 40 hrs. You should have a very fine tractor on your hands shortly. Congrats.

Have rodents been at the wiring?

Other than checking fluids and replacing the battery you should be good to go. My 4410 has a place to drain the fuel tank. If the tractor you are looking at has the same feature I would drain a bit of fuel out just to make sure that there is no water in the tank from condensation. You could also crack open the oil drains on the engine, transmission and front differential for the same reasons. You don't need to turn the drain plug all the way out. Just enough to let the water if there is any seep out around the threads. If possible do the drain thing before you move or start the tractor.

Welcome to TBN!
My suggested walkaround checklist:
Check tire inflation.
Check for water in fuel bowl.
Check engine oil level.
Check hydraulic fluid level.
Check radiator fluid level.
Check that the clutch pedal is not latched for storage (if so equipped).
If possible, put a charger on the battery overnight before cranking?
Good luck & keep your fingers crossed - you may have found buried treasure.

Get it running first . Old fuel , filters need to be changed . If it will start you are in good shape . The hydraulic system / trans are a sealed / closed system . Put a battery in it and see what happens . Good luck .

Thanks to all of you who have responded so quickly.
It sounds like not too much to worry about just a good service and check the fuel.

Thanks again,

Max

By the way which is better John Deere or Kubota?
