Buying Advice looking to buy a new lawn mower.cant make up my mind to meny to choose from.

a guys, which brand do ya think is better? Husqvarna or cub cudet?.

I own my second Husqvarna. The first was a $3200 articulated rear engine gadget that I returned after about a week of use. Years later I bought a conventional 46" with a Kohler Courage 20 hp single cylinder which I have had for about 5 years along with a Scotts 15 hp hydro, a JD 110 hydro, Hustler Fastrak 44 ZT, DR 52 combo ZT, and rotary mowers that I use with my tractors. The Husq. lawnmower now has a V twin BS 20hp and is the only one of the group that had any kind of engine problems. The Courage just vibrated itself to death so bad that it cracked the main casting which contained the crankshaft and all those moving parts and included the finned cylinder and all that. The Scotts and JD have single cylinder Kohlers, the Fastrak an 18 Honda V twin, and the DR a 22 BS V twin, none of which have caused me any problems over the years.

On the Cub Cadet, I use the seat springs on all my mowers because they are very soft riding. I posted on that a day or so ago too if interested. Otherwise I can't comment on that machine brand.

Personally I am partial to JD lawn tractors I just bought my second one in 25 years last year. I won't buy the ones sold in the big box stores, I get mine from the local JD dealer. They have Kawasaki engines that seem to last a long time. My neighbor has a Cub Cadet that she has had for about 15 or so years, she puts around a thousand hours a year on it mowing about six acres of pasture. we call her the lawn ranger, she will even mow after dark with the headlights at times. I know that she does get annual dealer maintenance done on it and takes meticulous care of it. I am frankly amazed by how long it has lasted.

I cut about 4.5 to 5 acres and I'm lucky to get 225 hours a season.That is with blowing snow.

Assuming around 35 cuts per year = 28 hours per cut

We mow a 7 acre lawn and put around 70 hours a year on our zero turn.
My tractor often helps with the mowing, but the zero turn does the majority it.

Simplicity and Snapper are same machine, different color. Made by same company, in the same factory. Snapper is usually priced better.

I would recommend Simplicity also.
