Power Trac 1850, NH 2120
Hi everyone,

Less than a month ago, I stumbled upon this site while trying to find information about some tractors. I have owned 4 tractors so far, 3 of them diesel CUTs. My current tractor is a Ford 2120 45 HP 4WD which is an awesome plowing machine with the loader-mounted Curtis plow. I really liked the tractors I have had but they are too harsh on the wet clay that passes for soil here on my lawn and trails. Therefore, they have been relegated to being used only for snow plowing, lifting with a 3 pt boom or loader forks, and bucket work on the driveway and surrounding work areas. I was looking into getting a small turf friendly tractor when I heard about Power Tracs and found this site. I am going to get one of these tractors and now I am trying to figure out which one and which attachments to get. So far, I have read 78 pages out of the 91 pages of posts (I am working backwards). As with any tractor purchase, there is always the trade offs of capability, weight/size, and price.

Before I go any further, I would like to thank all of you for your informative posts!!! The expertise and friendliness of the members of this forum is an extremely strong selling point for Power Trac as I mentioned to Terry and Kristine when I called the factory.

I will have more questions later but the following information would be quite useful to me in narrowing down the possibilities:

How much can one lift at the end of the 60" boom on the 30 and 45 HP models as well as at the 48" point on these and the 425? That information would help me determine the smallest tractor I can get for my lifting needs.

Thanks and I hope everyone has a pleasant new year,

Ken

On my 1845, I think I was told 600 lb. at the end and 800 at the middle hook. I think both are conservative, but it's easy to pick up the back of the machine with something heavy at full boom extension.

Sorry, I have the 22.
But welcome to the PT Crew anyway ;~)

Here is some information that others might find useful. I can not guarantee it is correct so reader beware.

Lifting capacities for the various models with everything horizontal:
425 320 lbs at 48" on boom
1430 480 lbs at 60" on boom
1445 720 lbs at 60" on boom

The following is even much more subject to misuse since it is EXTREMELY dependent upon conditions, type of trailer, etc. but at least it allows rough comparisons:

Allowable Drawbar Pull:
425 900 lbs
1430 1,800 lbs
1445 3,000 lbs

Allowable Trailer weight on flat concrete:
425 9,000 lbs
1430 18,000 lbs
1445 30,000 lbs

Allowable Trailer weight, 20 degree slope, concrete surface:
425 2,000 lbs
1430 4,000 lbs
1445 6,700 lbs

Allowable Trailer weight, 20 degree slope, smooth dirt:
425 900 lbs
1430 1,800 lbs
1445 3,000 lbs

Can you tell us where these figures came from? Are they from PT printed material, or were they computed from observed measurements.

I am not sure they want me to say so I intentionally did not but since you asked....

These were verbal from Kristy at PT who had passed my questions on to the engineers. As I said, they should be taken with a grain of salt but they are useful at least for comparisons. If the information was relayed correctly, the lifting capacities should be accurate but the trailer pulling capability really does depend upon a large number of variables.

This is a best guess scenario, using 4 ft on either side of the fulcrum.

Lifting capacity based at Quick-attach,which is the max safe lift.
