I think the Deere 1026R is the best sub-compact you can buy right now (it has some cheap touches, the ground clearance is lousy, and I don't like the plastic bodywork, but the features are best in class). However, they are expensive. For the same price, you can step up to a compact Kubota B series and get a bigger tractor, which is exactly what I did.

If you had to buy a sub-compact for size, I'd say get the 1026R. If price/value was a factor, then definitely play the field for a while and keep your options open.

Price does have a lot to do with what i get, and MF has 0% for 72 months which is really looking nice right now, but I love looking around and just looking at the cub cadet and that really looks like a nice tractor to lol

There some Mahindra dealers on here (Lawalls Tractor, spelling?) about a Max price. But when I was looking at their youtube videos they said one of their selling points was the low price but much higher capacities.

Well theres no doubt theres a lot of good options out there, BUT after i went through this last year i ended up buying a kubota bx25 and i think it is THE best tlb for the money. I did like the ergos on the deere 1026r and rollover deck but the frame and mounting for the bh didnt impress me. The bx25 has surpassed my expectations for what a sub compact tractor can do. Plus throw in dealer support , 60 months interest free financing and stellar resale value, tried and true reliability. Just my .02.
Good luck with your tlb whatever make you decide on.

I took a look at the mahindra/Massey dealer a couple of weeks back. I also have seen the cub sc and Deere 1000 series side by side. I've driven a couple of Bxs.

In my opinion, the 1000 series is the most refined, comfortable, user friendly, accepts more attachments, and is the best looking. In my research of pricing three 1026rs, three bx2660s, two gc 2600s, and a sc2450? they were all within $250 of each other.

Now the max... True it is about 10% bigger than the accepted norm for SCUTs. It's comfort level is slightly less than that of the Massey. It has those great Kubota style unusable steering brakes on top of the cheesy thin forward/reverse treadle. The FEL has 9.1% more capacity than a typical SCUT. It has position control three point. It has a cast iron center section, but no subframe for the FEL. And like everyone else, except Deere, no quick attach loader bucket. I wasn't able to compare MMMs.

Now for the rock bottom pricing... Comparing msrps, the max 25 with FEL is about 9% MORE than a 1026R with QA FEL. No surprise really, because you get so much more with the max.

Well so far I got pricing on the MF, kabuta and the cub cadet. The kabuta was the cheapest at $19125.00 the cub which is,now just yanmar now was $19800.00 and the MF was $20,000.00 and they said they would come down a little and they have 0% for 72 months so right now I'm gonna say its probably going to be MF. I also got a price on the 1026r and it was $22,000 very nice but out of my price range.

All of those prices seem very high to me. Out of my own interest I looked some of them up and that is beyond list price. Even, assuming the Kubota is talking about the BX25 is $100 over list, the JD is $800 over list and the Massey was $800 over list and I couldn't find a build your own with the Yanmar. None of these have any options besides the loader and backhoe, but these prices are still way higher than they should be. I'd find someone who's willing to make a deal, these guys obviously aren't.

The one thing all the dealers said was that if I just gave them a check they would take 10% off the pricebut because I am doing the 0% the dealer gets charged 10% and they pass that on. Not really sure why the call 0% lol. The MF dealer said that he would match the kabuta bx25 price and still offer the financing. Does that still seem to high?
