Tractor
Kabota L235
I recently acquired my 90 year old father's Kabota L235 tractor. It's has a bucket and a box blade. The tractor has been well maintained and always garaged. It has 802 hours on it. I'll be looking for a similar sized tractor but with a cab for snow removal. So that brings up a few questions.
1. What is a compatible tractor model?
2. What's my tractor worth?
3. Sell outright, someone would be getting a great tractor, or trade?

My dad told me at the last service appointment they offered him what he paid for it towards a new one

Original purchase price would be about right for a retail private party sale. Surprised a dealer would offer that, but they can fudge numbers on a trade.
That machine is a nice size, and should be an easy sell with the loader and 4wd.

I'll start with what the old machine is worth. I sold an L285, 2wd, a bit rougher looking, no loader, for $2000 about 18 months ago. It was on FB Market for 2 days. I think yours is likely worth $3500 or so, assuming it cranks up, and runs through the gears.

As for comparable models, that offer a cab, Koiti CK2620 comes with a cab. It is probably a good bit heavier, but physically not that much larger, gonna be about $29,500 with the cab I think. I see 2620 SE cabs for $31,200 at several places.

Original sale price was $4,000 for the L245, in 1977, and that is probably in the ball park for a private sale. Trade in, I would think $2000-2500.

Also, that looks like a 60" light duty box blade, right? No reason to sell that, it would be a perfect fit on the replacement machine, and it's not adding much or anything to trade value. Private sale on it, maybe $200, but to buy equal with new machine, $1200

I'm loving the financing offers on tractors now. That's the only reason for going new

Does it have power steering option? They have a sturdy frame and loader but with a full bucket a bear to steer. I had an L185 500 hrs with a loader and BH I restored - all new hoses, hyd cylinder rebuilt, and down to frame and traded it to a contractor to build my barn (value about $9K in 2000)

You could enclose the ROPS frame and get a rear blade and use it for snow too. But value wise I would think $5K range maybe more.

Here's a link to an older thread on the L235 Price Check - Price Check L235 -selling
