Looking for the problem with my finishing mower leaving streaks, I verified the blades were clean and the belt tension was right on at 2 7/8 inches. Then, wow, there were no pins in the hitch arms. I can see how the mower would move side to side without those pins. Guess I will have to put those on the "pre-flight" list I use every time I use my 4110. THese are not the pins where the unit attaches. They are ones on the arms to adjust the length.

These were simple pins with "bobby-pin" type clips. I am replacing them on my way home tonight but I was wondering what others do to prevent this. I will look at wrapping some baler wire around them if it will fix it. Anyone use a nut and bolt? Is there some other kind of pin to use?

I will look at my 4110 tonight to see how they are installed. Never had the problem.

Are you talking about swing link pins? My 6520 had wire "key rings" holding the pins in. Mowing heavy brush would snag them and straighten them out and lose them. I replaced all of them with locking lynch pins from Tractor Supply. FYI.......my pins have factory chains to keep from losing them.

I stopped by my dealer last night, nice that he is in the same town, and got a "D" shapped pin that clips on fairly securely. I am gong to run some wire through both ends for extra protection. I am sure it was the high weeds that got mine the first time, but like I said before I am going to visually check them during my pre-flight steps. Live and hopefully learn.

My 4110 has turnbuckles with a ring and shackle on each end. Just tighten or loosen the turn buckle to adjust side motion or width of arms. No pins to adjust the side swing.

Bill,
The 6520's swing links are telescopic with pins. I thought that Rickstir was talking about swing links.
