LS MT125 bad transmission, replacement available?

Hi everyone. I have an LS MT125 that I got for cheap. The problem is the transmission is in very bad condition. The previous owner hit something with the hydraulic oil filter (no guard installed) and ran it out of fluid. Then kept trying to make it go until it started making very bad noises.

I've removed the transmission and have started disassembly. There is so much metal debris it's just incredible.

Best case at this point, I have to replace every bearing and seal in the gear case, the HST pump and motor, as well as all the HST plates and bearings. Basically everything inside the HST case.

Has anyone been able to source a new, complete transmission for an MT 125? How about just the HST unit?

You can replace just the HST portion and not the entire transmission, but your retail cost with freight is probably going to be over $3800 from a dealer. Not all of the internal HST parts are available separately right now. The HST motor rotating group is a few hundred dollars, but the pump rotating group is not available at this time. Maybe a hydraulic shop can find other options.

Arg, when I was looking into buying this tractor I called the local supplyer and asked about the pump, $477 less tax and shipping.

I dont know why I didn't aske about the motor.

Most of the carnage in the transmission is in the HST. Many of the pistons in the pump are locked up and it looks like the roller bearing behind it is half missing. I haven't opened the HST yet. I'm still assesing damage inside the gear box.

Wow, that sounds like a serious issue with the HST and the roller bearing. When you say the roller bearing is half missing, do you mean that parts of it have completely broken off, or is it just severely worn down?

My NH 25S is built by LS for NH. It is based on the MT125. A NH dealer can furnish parts for your tractor. I believe NH just adds MT to the LS part number.
