HD free delivery next week. Had a really hard time deciding between JD LA 115 and LTX 1045. Deciding factors: #1 - 4 anti-scalp wheels (very unsmooth yard); #2 - 2 phone calls to the 800 number on the Cub Cadet. #2 relates to customer service in the 21st Century. While in a store 2 weeks ago, called the number, asked for date of manufacture based on S/N, and got an immediate answer from the person who answered the phone as well as an offer to provide any other information. Same experience when I called that number yesterday, except the customer service rep offered the code. One more influence was the deck. CC has a slight overlap cutting pattern, whereas JD does not, reportedly causing an uncut strip sometimes. Now I don't know that a Kohler is any better than a B&S so that had nothing to do with my decision. Oh yeah, both have 120 hour warranty, except CC gives 3 years to run the clock, compared to 2 for JD. That could be an important difference too.
