I have 2 LX188 mowers and the springs have worn out a rusty hole on the pan.
And these pans are not cheap.
Especially on the right side the rust will weaken the pan so it eventually pokes thru.
I am refurbishing both seats so I decided to make some plates for this issue.
14 ga steel mounted with screws. (Welding would have been an option except I can't seem to weld thin metal like this.)
The hole that the seat switch arm attaches into was so rusty that the po had made this bracket as you see in the old photo.
I wish I had some kind of rubber deal that would sit on top of the spring now.
My new plates will keep the springs from busting thru, but rubber would protect the new paint.
