LX410 Transmission fluid

Ok so I checked all fluids on my new tractor and I need to add trans fluid, it's at the add mark. The fluid is clear as can be. It says use TF500. What can I purchase on a Sunday that will work? Is it a bad idea to put red fluid in with the clear? I'm new to tractors, so any advice is great. I did go read the past post on this, but no one talked about mixing clear with die type fluids. Thanks.

My tractor came with red TF500, and I changed it at 50hrs with red TF500. I'm curious why your fluid is clear but it won't matter if you mix a died fluid.

If you have a Tractor Supply near you, I'd just add their Traveller Premium Universal Tractor Transmission/Hydraulic Fluid-that fluid is clear.

Any J20A,B,C, JD303, or UTF fluid would work for you as well. Just make sure you buy something that says it can be used with wet brakes.

It's best to use Yanmar hydraulic oil, so I'd wait 'til Monday and get the right oil. In an LX410 your transmission, hydraulic pumps, loader cylinders and brakes all run in this oil.

There really isn't anything special about the Yanmar fluid. Its just a ISO VG46 fluid with friction modifiers for brakes. On the same bucket it says J20A, for John Deere use.

These Yanmar oil cans are made of thin metal and dent easily in shipping, because of this my dealer stopped taking deliveries of Yanmar oil, at least until they start using plastic buckets. On my last trip to the dealer they sold me a 5 gallons of Permatran 821xl, which is a Massey AGCO fluid, so that should say something. I'll use the Permatran when I change the fluid this summer.

In any event, I've use the TF500 and The Tractor Supply stuff to top off my LX. The TSC stuff does say it meets Yanmar spec, check the label.
