I took delivery of my M105X a few weeks ago and really not had much time to work it out. One thing I have noticed is that there is a noticable grinding noise, which appears to be coming from the tranny when in 4WD. The dealer suggested that if that is where the noise is coming from, don't be concerned. They claim to have gotten the engine decibels quite low, and combined with a cab, you are more likely to hear the tranny noise.

Has anyone else noticed this with the M105X series? The dealer has been very good to work with in the limited time some far, but that answer just doesn't feel right.

Thoughts??

Call them over for a test drive and fluid inspection?

Is it close to the 50 hour service yet?

Barely 5 hours. I called for them to come over but they dont appear overly concerned about it. They also suggested comparing the noise to when it is engaged in Bi-turn.

I would not have any idea if the dealer is right or wrong about the noise. It does sound kind of like an excuse for not coming and taking a look though. You might want to get something documented to show that you brought it to the dealers attention just in case there is a problem in the future.

You hear a grinding noise and the dealer says it is no problem? When is a "grinding noise" ever a good thing or something to ignore. I believe it is time for a new dealer and I would notify Kubota as well.

I could also be partial engaged in 4wd but i would definitely have the dealer give it a listen . The problem with the x is its fairly new tech so alot of people have not gotten alot of experience with them. If thats the case where you purchased it , ask the dealer to have one of kubotas m series techs come out and have a listen

I went from a L4330 to L5030 with cab and suddenly I heard all kinds of noises I never heard before. Now I hear a whine when in 4wd, and a strange sound when not in 4wd. Not quite a grinding, but a gear noise. It seems the cab muffles the engine enough to expose other noises. Although, this is my first tractor with a cab, so it was a new experience for me. This may not be the same situation you are having...

By the way, I love the M105X. I am getting a toy one since I can't justify the real one. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Joe,

I dont know that I can (could) justify the M105X either /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Actually, as I pay clser attention to the noise, it occurs in 2wd, 4wd and bi-speed. Time to let the dealer do a little warranty work.
