M5400
I just put a deposit on a used M4700.
The specifications that I could find conflicted with one another.
Would someone who has a brochure or who knows about/owns a machine please tell me the following:

Weight, (ROPS with 4WD) '97 model
Standard tire options and tract width, front and rear axle
What additonal options were available with the tractor.

Thank you for the tractordata.com info. That data conflicts with over sources. Someone must have a brochure or a owners manual.

Froggy probably has the best reference for the correct specs.

This data sheet from tractors usa is not an owners' manual- but it does seem to be a copy of a Kubota Brochure spec page for the M4700/M5400. It lists the M4700's normal R1 rubber as 9.5-22/14.9-28. The page implies the gearing was different in the two models, listing the M5400 with the same 9.5-22 front tires, but with 16.9-28 rears. The rears would have about 10" of circumference length difference between models. Seems like that would be a lot of scuffing to absorb without a gearing change too.

Dick,
Thanks for the information. The ad for this tractor that I put a deposit on has the engine listed as a 4 cylinder diesel. I wanted to be sure that all M4700's were the F2803 engine. This helps confirm that. This also confirms the weight of the tractor to be about 4,000 lbs not the 4,200 that I had seen in one other place.

As for the tire size. If I read the kubota book on tractor options, the m4700 has the same 16.9-28 rears with the same 9.5-22 fronts. This works out to be about a 5% change from the 14.9-28 tires. I agree; this seems like alot with out a gear change.
Design.

ps. I hope to get down to see the tractor this week.
