Looking at an M9540 cab tractor with loader. I have heard these tractors are pretty tippy when doing loader work. We do a lot if grapple work with FEL and move , load/unload a lot of round bales on/off semi trailers. Bales usually weigh 1000-1300 lbs. I feel like a 95hp tractor should handle this task easily, but have been told they are real ligjt in the rear end. Wanted to get your thoughts before purchasing. Also considering a TL100 which weighs considerably more.

I would agree with that. I bought a 5083e because of that reason, it was over 1500lbs heavier than the 8560? Was. I'd spec out cast rims and beet juice fluid as a minimum. All of these new tractors are light imo.

Funny you mention a 5083E. We have also looked hard at that tractor. Have one found with less than 100 hours. Much higher price than the other two though. How do you like it? We also have an MX10 we値l be using with whatever new tractor we pick up.

When compared to older AG tractors most modern farm tractors are lighter. The 9540 is no exception.

For serious FEL work, you will want the optional cast rear wheel centers and loaded tires. A ballast box or other counterweight is even better.

Well I like it so far. It's no Cadillac but it works. I think my ac lines were setup backwards from the factory and my seat doesn't have enough spring to keep me from bottoming out sometimes. I just replaced the battery last year after 7 years. No major issues so far. I do have to run with the loader or preferably 8 suit case weights for my hilly ground. I would like a few more pto hp for mowing when the grass is as tall as the front tires but that doesn't happen often. All in all its been a decent tractor. I got mine with 0% financing so that's what did it money wise for me.

Spread the rear wheels - add rim guard - put a heavy implement on the 3-point. My M6040 has it's wheels out at the widest setting - tires filled with 1550 pounds of Rim Guard - 820 pound grapple on the FEL & a 1050 pound Rhino rear blade on the 3-point. In this configuration it weights - 10,100 pounds.

It's never been even the slightest bit tippy.

I've loaded/unloaded over 1000 4X5.5 rd bales with my Kubota M7040 with no problems. Granted it has cast rear wheels with loaded tires & I always keep a box blade or tiller on 3 pt for counter balance.

I don't care what brand/model tractor you get. To be safe doing loader work, you will need to add weight to the rear end. Either cast wheels, wheel weights, Rim Guard, windshield washer fluid, RV anti-freeze & something on the 3-point. I have two of the four. Even at that - there are times when it gets "light in the loafers". Also, remember to set your rear wheels out wide.

I lift VERY heavy rocks & chunks of Ponderosa pine. My salvation - I NEVER lift a heavy load over 6" off the ground. If I see "knuckle drag marks" in the dirt as I back up - I know I'm probably safe and doing it correctly.

About 95% of the time my ultra heavy Rhino rear blade is on the 3-point. I NEVER run the tractor with nothing on the 3-point. The other 5% - Wallenstein BX62S chipper - Bush Hog Roll Over Box blade - Land Pride LPGS - Land Pride disk harrow - Pittsburg single bottom moldboard plow.

The rear tire are loaded on our M7040 and with with no bale on the back on the tractor, you can feel it get light in the back loading a hay van with 5x6 bales. I put it in 4wd just to make sure I have traction because I’m lifting them about 4+ feet off the ground. If i have a bale on the back of the tractor it’s fine in 2wd and balanced well. I’m not sure how wide the tires are but we didn’t widen them any so it would fit on a standard size pipe top utility trailer. I have moved a few thousand bales with it fine. There is 2 other people that have cows or do hay that have a 9540 and one I believe is a 9960 and I see them hauling a bale of hay up the road with just loaded tires and they do fine. I believe on the 90 series and up the front tires are wider sized and that helps too.

That Kubota is light, yes. It will be fine with the cast rear wheels, loaded rear tires and especially with a bale on a rear spear.

Don稚 overlook the 100hp-ish Kiotisエ if they are available near you. They are a pretty darn nice tractor. Nicer than that Kubota in most ways, imo.

Good luck tractor shopping!
