Navasot,
Thanks for your input.
Not knowing your background (as you don't mine) I'll say (with no offense intended) that it doesn't seem that you are too familiar with Vermeer 5410 Balers.
From Vermeer 5410 Brochure:
Low hp tractors
and lower fuel costs.
With just a minimum 40hp tractor,
you're ready to roll, even in
heavy windrows!
I also spoke at length with Vermeer prior to buying the 5410 which I used trouble free for years with a MF 231 S (42 HP)
So when I bought a Mahindra 2565 I bought a tractor that did indeed have "at least 10hp of any recommended specs in the hayfield".
Frankly, I seriously doubt that any 65HP tractor that is functioning properly is going to have any trouble with a Vermeer 5410.
Some experienced hay balers have stated that they would, "Pay for a 5410 before they would run a free green baler."
Secondly, I do indeed "bring the remote lever back to neutral" when closing the tail gate.
As the tractor will not attain proper RPM with nothing attached to it even in neutral I'm pretty sure that's not the problem.
As an update:
I spoke with the dealer last Friday.
I was not surprised to learn that the fuel filter did not correct the problem.
He said they, "Have no idea what's wrong with it."
I suggested that he return the tractor and I would get it to a dealer who had a Dyno and could resolve the issue.
He thought I should leave it there for awhile as he had the Mahindra District Service Rep coming in to look at it, though he didn't know when that would be.
I just contacted my District Sales Rep (again) and we'll see what happens.
