I have noticed the new to me Mahindra 2810 ,is leaking fluid around the brake rod where it enters the axle housing . I looked at the service manual , as well as I can determine there is nothing to control a leak but a rubber boot around the brake rod . Has anyone ever made this repair ?

3 or 4 times, Mostly my fault not getting the boot and brake rod correct. Make sure you push the boot in a little before you tighten the clamp or it will start pulling the boot out from under the bolt bracket just enough to make it leak, You might check that first before you pull it off, you will lose some hydraulic fluid if you take it off.

The boot might have a crack in the rubber , Mine is a 2004 model and the boots used to be cheap and easy to get , Check with Rubicon intl mahindra parts

Yes Sir , 2 issues , boot is deteriorating, and clamp securing it to the rod is destroyed . I have built many Hot Rods and Harleys , was a Stationary Engineer by trade for 35 years , can’t say I ever seen this type of bellows to seal oil . It seems as it is similar to a splash seal nothing more . The tractor seems to be very well designed and built . It was owned by an older farmer , and used to farm with . He wasnt much of a mechanic . That’s where I took over with the purchase . Thank you so much for the help . I hope someday I can be of help to you .

Hi Dave...hope you're still around on this forum...I'm changing the rear brake boot on my 2008 Mahindra 4110. Got the retaining bracket off OK, boot is loose, fluid has drained out, but can't figure out how to get the old boot off the brake rod and the new one on. Tried separating the rod at the adjustment nut, but no dice. Only other way I could imagine would be to pull the cotter pin and undo the brake rod where it attaches to the stationary brake lever (at the front end of the rod) and try to squeeze the "U" shaped connector (on the front end of the rod) through the rubber brake boot. However, doing so seems as though it will either deform the circular hole on the boot or just rip it. Appreciate any help.
