For the past few weeks, I have been plagued with the screen in the tank stopping up. It has been suggested pressure washing the tank then washing it with clean fuel to get the water out. I sure don't want to remove the tank. Someone suggested cutting the fuel line and install a cheap throw away filter. Need this fixed before I pull the rest of my hair out. THANKS Will post in repair forum also

Firstly, have you determined what exactly is causing the tank's screen 'stopping up'? Debris or a biological growth? A fluid-proof inspection camera will let you see what you're dealing with.

For example, I had a biological growth in my 4105's tank a few years ago; after confirming with an inspection camera (bottom layer of looked like fairy-floss/cotton-candy mixed with phlegm) I treated the growth with a diesel biocide. then I drained the tank and used a long mechanical 'grabber' with a CHUX/J-Cloth (several of them) to wipe out the debris/dead growth. The inspection camera was used periodically to see my results.

Once everything was put back together = fresh fuel and constant biocide additive to guard against it ever happening again.

I think I am going to remove the tank and do a complete job of it. Thanks
