Thinking about buying a Tractor My uncle has. Its a Mahindra 5035 he bought from a guy a year ago..Tractor has set every since. Everything worked fine when he got it..Now the clutch seems to be stuck..Starts and runs great. He started it for me today and the loader moves at a crawl when trying to raise it. I just tried a couple times..I was told there are ways to get the clutch freed up but the slow loader lift worries me..He said he would let me have it for $5000..Tires are pretty good and tractor has 1200 hours on it..Whats your guys thoughts? Could the loader be sluggish because of sitting? Maybe needs flushed and new filters? You guys ever broke free a stuck clutch? Price seems right.

If the loader is slow it could be because the three point is in the full up position. That can put the hydraulics into bypass mode. Lower the three point a bit and see if that helps. If so it's a rock shaft adjustment. The stuck clutch MAY be freed by putting the front against an immovable object like a large tree. Put the tractor into a high gear, depress the clutch, and it may break free. Or the tractor may stall. Good luck.

Its my uncle is why he let me have it that cheap..Thats him in the pictures..He is 86 and just to big a project for him..Its sat 2 or 3 years before he gut it last spring..Been sitting in his yard since then..Starts right up and motor sounds good.

Start with simple stuff and check oil level for hydraulic system.
If it has been sitting for an extended period of time it is possible that a pump inlet hose has dried out or weather checked and cracked allowing air to be drawn in.

That's good of your uncle to give you a solid price on it. That's a lot of tractor for that price- hopefully you're not putting much into it.
I was going to hook a brush hog up you see if I can unstick the clutch..My PTO wont come on..There it a on off switch on the dash you push on to power it and a switch on the right on dash to go from off to manual or auto..The green push button to power it on wont light up or do anything. I unhooked the switch and it is getting power in one wire but switch not lighting or or working..Bad switch?
