Need some help... I have a MF 4707 that keeps displying the fault code 00.1.31. The issue happens quiet often.... the fuel gauge goes to empty and the buzzer comes on. According to the code, it is the in tank sending unit. Anyone have experience removing the fuel tank and replacing the unit? How is it accomplished?

Do you have some photos of the fuel tank?

On most vehicles, the fuel tank sending unit is accessible from the top side. Perhaps a ring of bolts/nuts.

So, with some luck, just removing some sheet metal to get to the top of the tank.

I have a 2022 4707, so I'm curious about this. Have you talked to your dealer?

There is a Face Book Group called "Massey Ferguson 4700 Global Tractors" that has several Dealers on there that offer advice on Codes and repairs. It doesn't hurt to join that Group and ask your question there.

Here are some pics. The fuel sending unit is visible, but I’m positive the tank needs to be removed. I am hoping someone else has done and can give me their lessons learned. Thanks.

I’ll take pics and document the process and add it to the post. I’ll look into the FB group. Thanks.

I didn't realize tanks were being put under the steps of the tractor... until someone was asking about a Branson that had a similar tank. Interesting place to put the tank. Surely an easy place to refill.

I think I'd run most of the fuel out.
Disconnect the fuel lines.
Remove the strap (is there just one strap or a couple of straps?)
I see a big skid plate which is a good thing. I'd check that for more bolts.

Hopefully it will just drop out.

Probably a long shot but I’d check under your floormat and see if you happen to have a bolt in access panel. I’ve had some tractors that did.

Drain it, remove the wheel, unvolt the straps, remove the sender wires and the fuel lines.
