I need some help. I was using the GC1710 at the cabin this weekend when the loader stick went loose. It still works to move the bucket around but it appears it is supported by the other end of the loader lockout pin, # 15 in the below picture. The problem is, my pin does not have threads on the end as this diagram is calling for a nut m6x1 to hold the pin in the bracket (#11).

Can anyone lift their hood and let me know if there is a nut or some other type of pin that holds the lockout pin to the loader control valve bracket. It's pretty easy to see from the top, but since mine is missing what ever holds the pin in, I can't tell what was there.

IF lever in image below is what you are referring to as lock out lever ... There is no NUT #11 involved.... The lever #15 (lock out pin?) is held in place just by PIN #16.... The pin #15 just pushes on a "nub" on joystick lever #1 (base) ....

And just FYI the spring #17 is on wrong side of bracket#18 in AGCO diagram

That is the lever lock out, can you snap a pic of the other end of that and how it is held in place. It links to the joystick by a bracket the pin goes through, just not sure how it's secured.

Thanks.

Thanks. That is what I needed to see.

I am just going to order all the parts on the lock lever to make sure I have what I need.

One more question, when you engage the joystick lock, does that pin go right into the hole or does it require the loader to be in a specific position to work?

It actually does not go into any hole, the pin #15 just pushed against a nub on joystick pivot and put's it onto a position where it can't move....

Interesting..

It looks like mine locks by pushing in on lockout, which goes into that hole via the pin. Then that locks the joystick.

I guess I will have to venture further down in the linkage to see what failed. I see a ball joint and wonder if that is what broke.

You are correct and I am wrong... Yes the pin (#15) actually goes into a sleeve (what I refereed to as a nub) to lock joystick, I had to move joystick around to finally get alignment and the pin to go all the way into sleeve to lock joystick.... It's something I have never used in all the years I have had tractor....

Just for giggles this is what you valve assembly looks like (#20)

And what you brake kit (pivot) assembly looks like ($4)

Well I guess I will update this thread on the problem.

I took the shroud around the lower steering column off. The joystick is supported by a bracket and bolts with double nuts. One of the support points had it's nuts off and another support point almost had one nut come off. I put some M6x1 nuts back on and put some Loctite on it. It worked again as it should.

So I will be now checking to make sure all the linkages, brackets and tie-rods are secure every 100 hours or so. There is a lot of nuts that hold the joystick to the valve. If you have over 100 hours on your machine, I would check those areas and keep those nuts tight.

It never hurts to check. But, once fasteners have been properly torqued, and later checked, they should not loosen. It was probably never properly tightened.

If they still become loose, something is wrong. I would then move to thread lock, lock nuts, or double nutting.
