Not all PTO seals created equally

I just replaced my seals in my PTO retainer and it appears not all seal listed under the part# 1860325M1 are created equally. The one that came out, I beleive had a rubber and leather seal. I've been advised a seal with leather needs to be soaked in oil overnight before installed. The new one I put on looked cheaply made and frankly I don't trust it. So I ordered one like the one that came out. Anyone else see this wide variety of inner PTO seals?

G,Day Mr kid .
The Original seal has the leather wiper on the outside to keep the dust etc away from the actual oil seal inside,it would do no harm to soak the seal in oil before fitting and once fitted fill the void area BETWEEN the leather and the rubber this will keep the leather lubricated long enough to see You out :dance1nly joking ,if you have got the new dodgy seal in leave it there and when it fails replace it with the new one maybe it wont leak !!Thats it for now .

Hello Hutch. I did buy another seal with a leather wiper in it. The one I bought or was sold as replacement i might have put in backwards. I asked to people I bought it from and simply told me to put it in like the old one. Duhhh. Anyways.. Waiting for some good weather to paint the body with Flint Grey Metallic.

I can't eat nuts anymore due to medical reasons, but the cheesecake, yes indeed.

I've got a few ideas I'm going to try on the upholstery of my new seat. I have some Naugahyde in grey I'm going to recover my new spring seat and paint the body red to appear to be factory.
