I have to go on the road sometimes and I wanted to have a mirror so I could see cars coming up behind me but I didn't want a mirror that would get caught on limbs when I went back in the woods so I came up with this setup. It goes on and off with just a lift but it stays put because it is on and angle. I fitted a pin that would JUST slide in the window bracket and welded it to a 1in sq. tubing. I fitted it so the tubing would just rub on the outside edge so it keeps it from turning. I then added a mirror that I bought at a yard sale and there you have it.

Pic of the mirror off. All you have to do is lift it up and off it comes.

closeup off the pin welded to the tubing. Now when we get a nice day I'll get it painted black and make it look neater.

Very nice ! I'm going to "borrow your idea " /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I only travel on the road 3-4 times a year . So a hard mounted mirror isn't necessary . I live on a country road with a theoretical speed limit of 35 . It's hard to drive and have to keep looking over your shoulder . Thanks for sharing the pics with us . John

Nice idea /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif. Does it vibrate much? Thanks for sharing. Franz /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes it does vibrate some but not that hurts visability. I could take some of that out by puting a set screw in the braket but it doesn't bother me and I like being able to just pick it off with out needing a wrench. If you watch at yard sales you can pic up mirrors around here for 50 cents and I had the scrap steel so I don't have much in it. The pin is metric but I just took a 7/16 pin and polished it down on the sander and made it just a slip fit.
