Ok I have been a Fram oil filter user for as long as I can remember. Having read the thread about Fram filters I have decided to change to Mobil 1 oil filters. Now being the type of person who likes the best product at the best price I have to ask "Where are the Bargains" on these filters. I have been to the Mobil web site and called a few places around town and the prices are within a nickel of each other. Is there a good place to go to buy them? Cheap? Thanks in advance for your help.

Try your local Wal-Mart. Most of their stores carry them. Prices should be about the best you will find.

Yeah the Fram filter thing.... Well I have used them for 30 years or so. I also use Generic hydraulic oil, Don't use synthetic oil, drill my rops, Don't change the air in my tires, etc Guess I just do everything wrong, but my vehicles/equipment works and lasts fine ! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif The big man must be watching out for fools like me.

Fram filters produce noticeable noise on start up when I use them on my truck. I switched and all the clatter went away, so there must be something to it in my case.

You know, there is nothing wrong with a plain ole delco, napa, purolator etc.. Those motorcraft filters are supposed to be a synthetic type and the price is about $3.

I do use Mobil 1 oil and think that it is worth what you pay for it. However, I use the Purolator Pure One oil filters because they are about half the price and I cannot tell any difference between the two. This is without the benefit of any type of scientific analysis so it is just an opinion based on rather crude observation but I would be interested in any information that would either prove or discredit it.

Well I did not mean for this thread to be a debate which oil filter is the best etc. But for the record I did go to Auto Zone today and picked up two Mobil One filters. I cannot believe how foolish I have been just looking at Fram filters. I am not very bright but the difference between Fram and Mobil One is very very apparent. If you have any doubts go someplace that carries both and check for yourself. I have not looked at the others mentioned because like I stated before I like the best at the very best prices. I am going to keep my eye out on what other TBNer's are recommending. Thanks again for the tips, but back to the original topic, does anyone know where to buy them cheaper? Your input is greatly appreciated.

The Wally Worlds in central Illinois only carry Fram. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif However I just found out from trolling the web K-Mart carries them. I will check them out tomorrow.

Ours doesnt carry Mobil One filters either. The wally world brand (Super Tech I think) are supposed to be good though, made by Bosch. They are also the cheapest.
