Tis the week before Christmas ,
all through the house,
not a creature was stirring,
not even a mouse.

Come Dancer, come Donner, come Blixon you say?
In Michigan's Upper Penninsula the antler's arn't there.

Look in the front yard! A birthing's taking place.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

I'm not sure of the exact date these pictures were taken. I just thought they tied in nicely considering the time of year. I received several pic's, here's a couple more.

Wow! Nice pictures!

So, what was Momma and Babe doing so close to a house?
These critters seem almost tame (to allow someone so close to take the pics). Are they pets?

Roy, when I was in Alaska we had a Mom come up to the bird bath located about two feet away from the bedroom window to drink. Tell you when you wake up and see her drinking it really wakes you up.

Don, I think I'd change that poem to:

And I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight,
"The moose is loose; no sleep tonight."

...I bet the postal carrier loves that.

I wonder what the postal carriers carry in the way of Bullwinkle repellent??

Oh wait, Bullwinkle was a friendly moose.

The story goes the neighbor across the street saw the actual birthing take place about 5:30 am and the little one was about 12 hours old when these pictures were taken........so.........chances are the postal carrier did cross their path.

Pictures came from Downtown Naubinway, Michigan

In the attached picture, there could be a stare down with the postal carrier.

Welllllll.... probably not. The pictures have been around the Internet and claimed for Vermont, Minnesota, Alaska, and maybe some other states, as well as good old Naubinway MI. A citizen of Naubinway has reportedly been quoted as saying she never heard of it and it didn't make the local paper.

The pictures are still cool, though.
