These 2 blades have been replaced on my BX2680 that has 54 hours on it

When they are laid flat, as in the pic, they will wobble when each end is pushed down. They seem to be bent symmetrically

Also note there is not one chip out of the cutting edge of the blades which indicates they did not hit anything extreme if anything at all

What might bend blades in this way? The blades have not hit anything that would bend steel like this

Any thoughts?...

And what is a good quality blade to purchase to replace the Kubota blades?...

Thanks...BCBSLICK

I'm confused (normal for me), but by picture they look ok to me. When placed together are they the same?
There are different kinds of blades like mulching, high lift, etc. The gator blades are good. When I buy blades I usually just look for bargains as long as length and mounting hole is same.

The blades don't lay flat...

They wobble when you push one end down and then push the other end down. They won't lay flat...

Other blades I've seen don't rock/wobble when you lay them flat...

They act like a wash cloth if you grab both sides and wring it out. Crazy description, but that about all I can say...

They are definitely wacky as they leave streaks when they mow...

Let's see what others might say. I know they look good as there is no marks on the cutting edge indicating they hit something...

Thanks...BCBSLICK

Gotta say they look normal to me too. But since they appear to be laid upon a Kubota parts counter, and since there was presumably a third blade that didn't display the issue, I'm guessing something is wrong. Can you describe the bend more? As you probably know, the upswept corners are by design, and work to lift the grass for a cleaner cut, as well as dispel the cuttings out the chute.

My OEM Kubota BX blades are mighty stout. I can't imagine them getting bent without some significant audible violence. I wonder if these two were maybe not OEM?

I recently shopped around a bit for replacements for my worn blades. Was tempted to try Oregon Gators, but I wasn't 100" confident about getting a precise match for my deck. And the OEM's have done well for me over the last 2.5 years, and quite a few resharpenings, so I stuck with Kubota.

O.K. let me try this again

In the pic I am including in this post, you will see arrows numbered 1 and 2

If you let the blade lay as it is in the pic and press down on the cutting edge of #1, the edge of #2 will lift about 1/4 inch. If you let the blade lay as it is in the pic and push down on the cutting edge of #2, the edge of #1 will lift about 1/4 inch...

It acts as if the blade is twisted. Both blades act the same way and there is simply NO WAY, 2 blades could be bent exactly the same way..

When the first blade bent, it chewed the inside of the lip under the deck. I don't even know how this could happen. No matter how the blade is bent from original, it would be shorter from center to the end. Just the way that goes...

Any thoughts now that I have tried to explain it better?...

Thanks...BCBSLICK

"They act like a wash cloth if you grab both sides and wring it out."
You shouldn't be able to bend any blade by hand, otherwise they're junk.
I would replace but with better quality.
All blades should stack together evenly, otherwise they're bent.

I don't think I'm explaining it very well at all...

I can't bend them by hand, they are already bent in the way I describe in Post #6...

They are both bent exactly the same way...

What are the odds of this happening?...

I guess what I'm would say are you sure they aren't suppose to be that way. What about the third blade, is it different?

BTW I bought some Gator style blades for my BX and they were terrible. Threw grass all over me and my tractor. I used them once and put them aside but I also have the mulching kit on mine. The Gator blades made an excellent cut though.

Blades on my mowers are bent similar to that so it's normal. If they're correct for the deck and "When the first blade bent, it chewed the inside of the lip under the deck."...something is out of whack...the deck is bent, or spindle bad/bent.
If you're repairing it yourself check alignment.
Oregon makes a gauge or park on flat level concrete or asphalt area and blades should be equal left, right, front, back when rotated...ground up to tip.
