Also, can either one of you tell me what type of hydraulic fluid the MT2501FD uses and how much(capacity)?
I can tell you what type I use, as for capacity it depends on which chassis(es) you have and if you are also doing the front axle.

Yeah, there are a couple options in the manual. It's more convenient and easier to buy one fluid. Base call is for API GL-3 or better.

The PowerTran is a Agri rated hydraulic fluid. https://phillips66lubricants.com/product/powertrantm-fluid/

PowerTran Fluid also meets API GL-4 performance requirements.

PowerTran Fluid is recommended for use where the equipment manufacturer specifies:

AGCO Power Fluid 821XL, Q-1826, Q-1802 (Type 55 Fluid), Q-1766B

Case IH MS1210, MS1209, MS1207, MS1206

Case New Holland (CNH) MAT3525 (134-D Fluid), MAT3506, MAT3505

Caterpillar TO-2 (obsolete)

Denison Hydraulics HF-0, HF-1, HF-2

Ford ESN-M2C134-D, ESN-M2C86-C, ESN-M2C86-B, ESN-M2C41-B

Ford-New Holland FNHA-2-C-201.00

John Deere JDM J20C, J20D (“Low Viscosity” grade), J14C (Type 303 Fluid)

Kubota UDT Fluid

Landini Tractor II Hydraulic Fluid

Massey Ferguson CMS M1145/M1143, M1141, M1135, M1129A

Sundstrand Hydrostatic Transmission Fluid

Vickers (Eaton) M-2950-S, I-286-S

Volvo VME WB 101 (VCE 1273.03)

Well, their callout for the Jone Deere J14C as Type 303 is totally wrong. J14C came out some 30+ years later vs. 303. Type 303 is banned in over 26 states. Nobody uses 'whale oil' (type 303) oils anymore.

"PowerTran Fluid is recommended for use where the equipment manufacturer specifies:"

It's just a suitable replacement list by each manufacturer that is shown, not that each of those in the list are the same thing. None of the items listed are the same thing, if they were they would have the same specification name.

It is not even the full list, just the most commonly recognized ones.

Edit:
At some point John Deere may have had a bulletin that specified J14C as the replacement for Type 303 when it was removed from the market. Is my only get why they have the brackets.
