Just purchased a MX5100 HST 4x4. While searching around the last couple of months, I have been debating on Hydraulic top link. I am having 2 sets of rear remotes added. I opted for one, then called back to add the second set. Is there a reason to have a third set. I ask this because I would like to have it done now while the dealer still has it, but cannot see the need for it as we operate. This is the first "new" tractor on the Farm. We normally have three sets on each tractor, but that is detaching a set off the front end loader whenever we need extra(everything runs to the back), the loader uses 2 of the 3. On the 5100 the loader has its own set of remotes, so that leaves me with two in back as I have ordered it. I need one set for when I use the Top link, and the other for square baler, rotary cutter, hay rake(all three are pull behind). Is there something I am missing that I am not thinking about that would require the use of the third set of rear remotes?
Also, What size toplink do those with the MX5100 without the quick hitch use?

you have plenty of hydro remotes for your tractor.i just use a reg toplink on MX5100 HST kubota.plus you have the loader remotes if you need them.

I have a L4400 Kubota which is a little smaller than the machine you have. I ordered it with 3 sets of rear remotes.
I use 1 for the top link
1 for the side link
1 for the front grapple or Hydraulic cylinder on a blade.
I chose 2 regular valves and 1 float detent and that was the right set up for me.

1st for hydraulic top link
2nd for hydraulic side link
3rd for either hydraulic actuated rippers on a box blade or hydraulic angle on a rear blade.
4th for hydraulic offset for a rear blade
5th for hydraulic rear blade tilt
6th for hydraulic actuated gauge wheels for a rear blade

Now there is a good chance that you won't need the 4th, 5th or 6th remotes, but there are people that need that many. I would get the 3rd one while it's in the shop. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Just my opinion ;)

Couldn't agree more with MtnViewRanch. Get as many as you can. A Top & Tilt takes two and anything else hydraulic takes another (like rippers on a box blade).

Even if you don't have a need right now, the extra hydraulics open up a vast number of other options and implement choices.

They are expensive but it is like having wisdom teeth removed. Have it all done at once because you won't want to go back.
