I need some help on my MX5100 loader. I built a work platform for use on the forks on my front end loader. I also use the bucket on the loader on a regular basis. My problem is that the hydraulics responds too fast to be really safe when I have the work platform in use. I would like to install an adjustable flow control valve somewhere in the hydraulic system to slow the flow when I use the work platform. I would want full speed though for the bucket - hence the adjustable requirement. I have the quick disconnects on the loader - red, blue, wht, yel are the colors I think. I don't know what size fittings are on there, I don't know the flow rate, and I don't know the max pressure on the system. I have seen some adjustable flow control valves at Surplus Center and I've read where they are a good source. I need the flow reduced in all four movements - up, down, tilt forward, and tilt backward. I would like a recommendation as to what parts (specifics if possible) you would recommend and where to place them in the system. If I need any adapters - I'd also like recommendations on that.

Thanks in advance!!
Tom

I'm not sure what the 'work' port means. So I would need 2 of these valves total? Does my loader have 3/8 NPT fittings - I cannot seem to find the fitting data anyplace
Thanks

On a loader valve, you have

IN port

TANK/OUT port

PB port

4 work ports, two per spool The fluid for the cyl flow out of these ports. They may be labeled A,B,C,D.

Does anyone know what fittings I would need to adapt the flow control valve in the link above to the fittings on my tractor. I guess the best location would be right at the control valve. I know the valve is 3/8 NPT- but I cannot find anything on the tractor fitting sizes. A link to the required fitting would be great!!
Thanks
Tom

Here is a thought. put on your manlift attachment. Run the tractor at idle(to reduce flow rate of the pump) Grasp the joystick lower down, so you have less leverage, and make an attempt to make smooth very small movements with the stick.. Just barely cracking open the valve...

Try these things before you go to all of this trouble... Just an Idea... But I find I can control My FEL precisely and extremely slowly by using these methods.
